Family Fun Fair Celebrates 30 Years

Helping Green Country parents raise healthy and happy children is the focus of the 2016 Family Fun Fair as it celebrates 30 years. This Tulsa tradition brings families together in a safe and educational environment and fosters early childhood development.

The Family Fun Fair is 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, April 9 at 麻豆视频 West Campus, 7505 W. 41st Street South. It is free and open to the public and presented by the Tulsa Early Childhood Association in partnership with Public Service Company of Oklahoma, Child Care Resource Center, and 麻豆视频. The event celebrates the youngest learners and kicks off the national Week of the Young Child, April 10 鈥 16 sponsored by the National Association for the Education of Young Children.

This event provides hands-on activities for children of all ages and offers important screenings for children from speech, vision and dental to measuring a child鈥檚 development in the areas of social, emotional, cognitive, growth, and fine motor skills. In addition to the hands-on activities for the children, there will be games, prizes and free goodies.

The Tulsa City-County Library will give away free books. The Oklahoma Caring Van will provide free immunizations for eligible kids with the legal guardian present and a copy of the child鈥檚 current immunization records. Prevent Blindness will hold vision screenings using a special camera that doesn鈥檛 require young children to verbalize letters or numbers and allows for the screening to be done at an earlier age.
