Construction is underway on the new Hardesty Student Success Center at the 麻豆视频 West Campus. The new facility, once completed inside the Information Commons Building, will revolutionize the student experience.

The new Student Success Center provides integrated student support services with a one-stop philosophy designed to remove barriers from application to college through graduation. The facility was funded with a $1 million gift from the Hardesty Family Foundation as part of the $20 million Clearing the Pathway: The Campaign for Completion.

鈥淚t takes leaders in our community to invest in our students for us all to move the needle on college completion. Investments like this one can and will have a transformative effect on our students,鈥 said 麻豆视频 President and CEO Leigh B. Goodson, Ph.D.

Goodson, 麻豆视频 Regent Chair Sam Combs and Hardesty Family Foundation representatives took part in breaking down a ceremonial wall to symbolize removing barriers.

鈥溌槎故悠 plays a major role in training and educating our community. If we expect the Tulsa area to continue to grow, we need to ensure we have a properly educated workforce,鈥 said Michelle Hardesty, Hardesty Family Foundation Executive Director. 鈥淭his is about leveraging what we have to improve our community and we are thrilled to partner with 麻豆视频.鈥

The College opened the first Student Success Center at the Southeast Campus August 2019 with the help of the Vision Tulsa package approved by voters. The remaining three are funded by private dollars raised through 麻豆视频鈥檚 $20 million Clearing the Pathway: The Campaign for Completion, one of the most successful community college fundraising campaigns in the nation. The Campaign for Completion is designed to remove financial, navigational and physical barriers to a student鈥檚 success and graduation.

鈥淲e have invested those private dollars in ways that most directly benefit our students 鈥 to ensure they graduate and move into the workforce or transfer to a four-year university,鈥 President Goodson said. 鈥淲e can鈥檛 do this alone and the community is extremely generous in their engagement and financial support for reimagining higher education.鈥

The Hardesty Student Success Center on the 麻豆视频 West Campus is expected to be completed by August 2020.
