麻豆视频 Fills Vacancy and Names VP of Student Success and Equity

麻豆视频 has鈥痭amed鈥疎unice Tarver鈥痑s Vice President of Student Success and Equity. With the pandemic and an effort to trim costs, this position went unfilled with President Leigh Goodson, Ph.D. stepping in to serve in that role for seven months.

The announcement is a promotion for Tarver who most recently served as 麻豆视频 Northeast Campus Provost and Assistant Vice President of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion. 麻豆视频 also changed the position鈥檚 title, formerly the Vice President of Student Affairs and Equity, to reflect the scope of work to improve student success outcomes from every sector of the College.

鈥淢oving forward, I have every confidence that Tarver will carry on the good work already established in Student Affairs, while also reimagining the way we serve our students,鈥 said 麻豆视频 President Dr. Leigh Godson. 鈥淪he has an excellent reputation as a leader, both at 麻豆视频 and in the community, and in this role, those relationships will serve her well.鈥

Tarver will oversee an expanded collaboration between Student Affairs and Academic Affairs with Dr. Angela Sivadon, 麻豆视频 Senior VP and Chief Academic Officer. This will be intentional work to design a student experience that is both responsive to the shifts from the coronavirus pandemic and at the same time supportive for an inclusive and equitable learning experience.

鈥淲ith over a decade of experience in roles across 麻豆视频, Tarver has provided a strong vision and dedication to our students,鈥 said Goodson.

Joining the College in 2010, Tarver served an Academic Counselor鈥痑nd two years later was promoted to Director of Student Development鈥痜or the Metro Campus. She was also an adjunct faculty member鈥痠n the Developmental Psychology and Human Relations department.鈥疘n 2015, Tarver was named Assistant Vice President for Diversity, Equity & Inclusion and promoted to Provost in 2017. Prior to joining 麻豆视频, Tarver served as Site Director of the YWCA鈥檚 north Tulsa location.

Tarver earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Oklahoma State University and completed her master鈥檚 degree in Human Relations at the University of Oklahoma. She is currently working to complete her dissertation to earn her Doctor of Philosophy in Social鈥疐oundations of Education from Oklahoma State University.

She currently serves as an Executive Council member for the Tulsa Innovation Labs Advisory Board, a board member on the Zarrow Foundation Commemoration Fund Advisory Board, and the Board of Directors for the Met Cares Foundation.
